An Introduction to Animation
11/09/2024
Today's Lesson objectives have:
1. To build an understanding of how animation is created
2. To better understand the requirements for reflective thinking and writing
Today we learned what "Animation" means and how it is created.
Animation is a series of images played one after another to create the illusion of movement.
Animation has methods as well, the techniques we learned today are:
1. Hand Drawn (Drawing/painting backgrounds and models by hand, frame by frame. This can be done on paper or digitally using special software such as Adobe Animate)
2. Stop Motion (Using materials to create sets and models you photograph. the most common materials include Clay and Lego)
After learning the basics of animation we started experimenting with Adobe Animate and I created this animation with a bouncing ball which bounces all over the screen.
For this animation, I used the following techniques and tools: Drawing with the brush tool and using onion skin to see the previous drawing of the previous frame.
After finishing the animation we learned how to export it.
The hardest part was to draw because I drew with the mouse - overall I am happy with all my work and with what I learned today.
Introduction To Cinematography
18/09/2024
Today's lesson objectives were:
1) To understand how to compose different shots
2) To improve your writing structure for when reflecting on Media Projects
First activity was to name some camera shots to see our knowledge.
The camera shots we saw today were:
1) (ECU) Extreme Close Up, for when you want to emphasize a specific feature of a character's face by bringing the audience closer to them
2) (LS) Long Shot, when the subject is in full view and can be quite distant from the camera.
3) (OSS) Over Shoulder Shot, Usually used when two characters are talking. The camera is looking over one person's shoulder and giving us a view of the other person's face.
These are 3 examples of what we learned at the beginning.
After learning some camera shots we learned what are camera angels.
Camera angles are used to make the audience understand a character and establish relationships between characters.
These are my 4 shots, Extreme Close Up, Mid Shot, Long Shot and Low Angle Shot.
Coloring Techniques And Tools In Adobe Animate
25/09/2024
Today's lesson objectives were:
1) To be able to compose environmental images using coloring techniques in Adobe Animate
2) To understand how more advanced tools work, including shape tools, layers, color picker, gradient and filters.
We followed a video demonstration made by our teacher, after watching the video we used the tools and techniques to create our animation of a city and the bright sun and sky.
I also added a bird flying through the screen to make it more interesting.
